Life long learning - Empowering through training

Trainer, Banker, Author

Why I write stories....

I love reading story books, immersing myself in the world of fiction, experiencing the world through the eyes of the characters. I also loved listening to the stories from The Ramayana and The Mahabaratha again and again. I enjoyed narrating stories even as a child. As I grew older, I lost touch with the art of story-telling. It was the birth of my daughter which revived my interest in story-telling.

As a trainer, I reinvented myself as a storyteller - my experiences in branch banking - in customer service, sales and leading a team was much more powerful in inspiring trainees than the concepts I had on my powerpoint.

I started writing stories on customer service and sales to inspire young bankers. I enjoyed writing because I was passionate about the ideas I wanted to share. Writing stories was liberating, cathartic and extremely satisfying.

My first book "Hello Banker" was born, thanks to the support from my husband and daughter. The response to the book from young bankers and aspiring bankers is so gratifying.

Women's web, the online magazine for women, gave me an opportunity to write about another theme I am passionate about - Empowering women. Check out my page "The working woman" where I share the links for some of the stories I wrote on Women's web.

I believe we all have stories within us waiting to be told. I enjoy writing my stories. What is your story?
